Dear Delegates,

Your organisation has registered you for the following course. Everything you need is below, and we recommend testing your joining link a day or two in advance.

Course:{{ p.course }} Date:{{ p.dateLong }}Updated Time:{{ p.start }} to {{ p.end }}Updated

Zoom link:{{ p.linkText }} Meeting ID:{{ p.linkId }} Passcode:{{ p.passcode }}

Joining:Click the Microsoft Teams link at the bottom of this email

There will be breaks during the session. The trainer will confirm the timings on the day.

This email is a calendar invite. Accepting it will move it from your inbox into your calendar, so the joining details are easy to find on the day.

This email is a calendar invite. Accepting it will move it from your inbox into your calendar, so the link is easy to find on the day.

Before the course

Please take a few minutes in advance to check your microphone, camera and internet connection, and to test that your joining link opens. Doing this early means there is time to sort out any problems.

Zoom provides a test meeting you can join at any time to check your camera, microphone and speakers: zoom.us/test.

On the day, please join 15 minutes before the start time. When you join, enter your full name so the trainer can mark the register.

Attached documents

Attached are the HSL appendices 1, 3, and 4. You will not need to complete these documents until the day of your course. Your trainer will provide instructions on how to complete and submit them for marking.

What you will need

A PC, laptop or tablet with a working camera and microphone
Reliable internet access
Something to write with and on

Please avoid joining from a smartphone. The screen is too small to read shared materials comfortably, and it makes group activities difficult.

Where possible, please do not share a device with another delegate, as some activities need individual participation. If sharing is unavoidable, please limit this to two delegates per device.

Getting the most from the session

Please keep your camera on where you can. The course includes discussion and group work, and it makes a real difference. If you have a reason you would prefer not to, just let the trainer know.
Position your camera at eye level, and sit somewhere quiet and well lit, ideally with a plain wall behind you.
Keep your microphone muted when you are not speaking.
If your connection is poor, turning your camera off will usually improve stability.
Sessions are not recorded.

If you have trouble joining

You do not need a Zoom account. Click the joining link above, then either open the Zoom app or, if the option appears at the bottom of the page, choose Join from your browser.

If you are asked for a meeting ID and passcode, both are in the course details above. You can also go to join.zoom.us and enter the meeting ID there.

If the Zoom app will not install, your organisation may block it. Use the browser option instead, or ask your IT team in advance.

If you are disconnected during the session, simply click the same link again to rejoin.

Zoom’s own guidance may help: Joining a Zoom meeting and Joining a Zoom meeting without an account.

You do not need a Microsoft Teams account. When you click the link, choose Continue on this browser to join without installing anything. This works in Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome.

If Teams keeps asking you to sign in, or you get an error about your account, try opening the link in a private or incognito browser window. This resolves most sign-in problems for people joining from another organisation.

If the link is blocked entirely, your own IT team may need to allow it. This is why we suggest testing it a day or two beforehand.

If you are disconnected during the session, simply click the same link again to rejoin.

Microsoft’s own guidance may help: Join a meeting in Microsoft Teams and Join a meeting without an account.

If you are still unable to get in, please contact us using the details below.

Moodle access

Before the course begins you will receive a separate email with access to supporting materials on the Premier Partnership Moodle site (VLE), including your username and password.

Please check your junk or spam folder if you cannot see it. If it still has not arrived, contact us using the details below.

Additional support needs

If you have any additional learning needs or would benefit from specific support during the course, please tell us at least five working days beforehand so we can put it in place. This might include materials in alternative formats, assistive technology or other adjustments.

You can contact us in confidence using the details below.

Zoom can display live captions during the session. If the trainer has enabled them, select Show Captions in the meeting controls. Zoom explains this in its guidance on viewing captions.

Teams also offers live captions, which any delegate can switch on themselves during the session from the meeting toolbar under More then Language and speech.

Content notice

This course may contain material that addresses sensitive subjects, including but not limited to violence, abuse, mental health issues, discrimination, and trauma. Some participants may find certain content distressing. If this is the case, individuals are encouraged to prioritise their wellbeing and may take a break or step away from the session at any time.

If you cannot attend

Please let your line manager or course booker know as soon as possible, and copy us in so we can update the register.

You must let your LMS SPoC and Line Manager know if you cannot attend this training. There is a cost implication for withdrawal. Please cc in healthandsafetyteam@premier-partnership.co.uk.
